Recognition
The J. Christian Gillin Early Career Investigator Award recognizes outstanding early career research in light, rhythms, and circadian health, presented each year at the SLRCH annual meeting.
MD, MSc, or PhD students, or early-career researchers who have not yet secured an independent academic position (e.g., prior to obtaining a role such as assistant professor, lecturer, or equivalent). Originality and independence of thought are valued.
A manuscript published within the last 12 months, where the applicant is first or co-first author.
Results organized as a manuscript of 5–10 pages (11–12pt font), including figures and references.

Submissions are reviewed by a scientific committee made up of SLRCH members. The winner is recognized at the annual meeting, presents their work at the award ceremony, and receives a $750 prize, with meeting registration costs reimbursed where applicable.
Current SLRCH membership isn’t required to submit an application, but applicants must become members before the meeting. You’ll also need to register for the meeting and submit a conference abstract.
